My photo
Welcome to my blog. There's nothing wrong with my name. I'm just a girl, struggling to keep up in the rat race. If you think you know me, read my blog and think again. I'm imperfect and i'm lovin it. I'm creative in my own way. I'm the only witness and only person who can judge my life.

- Ipoh Mali -

Hi people...
just randomly feel like posting on this...
bout the place where i am born and live for 20 years...
IPOH, PERAK...

okie i still dont know how to differentiate whether ipoh is bigger or perak is bigger...
it's a small city in Malaysia...
with great building, cuture and of course FOOD!!!!
=)

First, the famous of all... Ipoh Old Town White coffee...
it is sort of a standard many place will use this cup with this specific pattern...

erm...
i am not really a coffee person and i also have not much knowledge on this...
but i do feel that this coffee is nice...
and i am proud of this being originated from my city
=D

Second is this biscuit call 香饼 [Heong beang (i dont really know which is the correct speling)]

it's a biscuit with a very nice filling...
i think the inside is malt...
never really ask what's inside...
i just eat...

next next next...
pomelo =)

it's some kind of fruits...
well...
i think ipoh people seldom eat this...
just that foreigners come they sure will buy this...
normally we eat this during chinese new year and moon cake festival...
okie...
that's for my family..
maybe other family have different culture...

next is taugeh chicken...
or we just call it ngar choy gai...

gai si hor fun....
one of my favourite!!!
damn nice...

Next is this place called 大树脚 (dai shu geok)...

it's actually a stall selling mee and fried 料 under a very big tree...
but with the business growing...
now they have opened another stall in a food court next to the traditional one...
so actually you can choose which style you want to go to...
and the food is damn nice...
i used to go there with schoolmates after school during my form 6...
nice food and memories...
=)

Next, beancurd (singaporean called it tau huey, ipoh mali called it tau fu fa)
what's so special about it?
the most special is because in ipoh, we have a drive through tau fu fa stall...
nah...
it's not as high class as in like those mcd drive through with machines and stuff...
just that the stall hire workers to run to your car to take order and deliver it to you..
so you can see a line of cars lining in sequence..
waiting for their turn...
they sell beancurb, soya bean and leong fun (whichi is the grass jelly drink)...
and you can choose whether you want a 'take away' or 'having here'...
fun fun fun~

Next will be the biggest dim sum shop in town...

it starts to get crowded even before 6am in weekends and public holidays...
used to tuition at the shoplot next to this dim sum place on sunday...
super crowded...

but i personally prefer this shop, ming court...
just directly opposite...
used to go there da pau dim sum and go school as breakfast...
ya...
we actually take order from friends and da pau a lot...
those were the time XP

by the way...
in ipoh,
there is this so called dim sum street...
with all this dim sum shops gather together...
so the whole road will be super crowded on weekends and public holidays...
and the benefit??
you can hoop from one shop to another if the one you plan to go is too full..
but in the end you still get to enjoy dim sum...

okie...

i dont know why but i just feel like posting this...

and i get all this photos online...

i miss ipoh food!!!!
